One Whisky and 25 reasons to celebrate World Whisk One Whisky and 25 reasons to celebrate World Whisky Day🥂
When we set out to mark Tulleeho’s silver milestone, only one spirit felt right: Godawan, India’s artisan single malt from the heart of Rajasthan. Three samples, One choice & A liquid that carries vanilla, coconut, ginger, and toasted oak into a finish that doesn’t let go.
The label, reimagined. The spirit, purpose-built. The moment, ours.
Here’s to craft at the source and in every sip that follows.

It’s World Whisky Day, and Vikram is taking us b It’s World Whisky Day, and Vikram is taking us back to Islay.
Rain-soaked ferry rides and peat-heavy air. Two years ago, he landed on the island during Fèis Ìle, Scotland’s second-biggest whisky festival and came back with three bottles and a lot of feelings.

Here’s what made the cut:
🟤 Ardbeg Spectacular — Their first-ever port cask release, built on a Dark Circus theme. Mint chocolate, lavender, smoked nuts, salted caramel, and a whisper of tar. Ardbeg’s philosophy: marriers, not finishers and this one shows exactly what patient maturation can do.
🟤 Lagavulin x Nick Offerman 2024 Caribbean Cask Finish, 11 years in oak, 8 months in rum casks. Lemon meringue, honey, vanilla, toffee, golden cinnamon, all wrapped in that signature Lagavulin brine. Smoky, sweet, and completely irresistible.
🟤 Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2024 — Islay’s true farm-to-bottle distillery. Oloroso sherry casks, floor-malted barley, and a finish that balances rich dark fruit and spiced chocolate with bright citrus and farm-fresh peat smoke.

Whisky is just barley, water, and yeast. But on Islay, peat is what binds it all.
Partly phenolic, partly unforgettable, once you’ve smelled it, there’s no going back.
Ardbeg, Lagavulin, or Kilchoman, which one are you reaching for first? 👇

First stop on Vikram’s Tipsy Passport - Flashbac First stop on Vikram’s Tipsy Passport - Flashback Series: Healer, Shanghai.

Fresh off a week in Guizhou, the heartland of sauce- and aroma-laden baijiu, Vikram Achanta heads to the French Concession to visit a bar that’s doing something special. Healer came recommended by Derek Sandhaus, author of Baijiu: The Essential Guide to Chinese Spirits. High praise from the right person. 🧳🥃

2 — Vikram with Phoebe Han
Meet Phoebe Han, the founder of Healer and the woman who built one of Shanghai’s most remarkable collections of native Chinese spirits through years of travel across the country.
As champions of Indian native spirits, we have a lot of respect for people like Phoebe who do the same for their own. 🥂

3 — Outside Healer
Tucked into the tree-lined streets of Shanghai’s French Concession, Healer doesn’t shout for attention. It doesn’t need to. 🔵

4 — Back Bar
Every bottle on this shelf has been personally sourced by Phoebe from her travels across China, baijiu across all aromatic styles, rice wines, and native spirits you won’t find on any international menu. For a spirits enthusiast, this is paradise. 🍶

5 — The Wugroni
A Negroni reimagined. The Wugroni swaps gin for Wuliangye Baijiu, distilled from five grains (sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat, and corn). Wu means five in Chinese, hence the name. The panda garnish is a nod to Sichuan province, home of Wuliangye and global giant panda conservation. 🐼

6 — Menu Collage
The menu at Healer is a history lesson in a glass. Old Class, Merchants of Shanxi, Mandarin Punch, every cocktail is rooted in a story from Chinese history and culture. The attention to detail in both the storytelling and the craft is remarkable. 📖🍹

7 — Kumis Shot
Phoebe’s parting gift was a shot of Kumis, fermented mare’s milk and one of humanity’s oldest drinks. The Botai people of Kazakhstan were making it over 5,000 years ago on the steppes of Central Asia. If it was good enough for Genghis Khan, it was good enough for us. 🐎
干杯, Healer. Until next time.
