Special Consideration Policy

Purpose
Tulleeho, as an Approved Programme Provider for WSET®, understands that unexpected situations may arise which could negatively impact a candidate’s performance during an assessment. This policy outlines how Tulleeho supports candidates who may have been affected by unforeseen and temporary circumstances at the time of examination.

What Is Special Consideration
Special consideration refers to a post-assessment review process intended to ensure fairness where a candidate’s exam performance may have been adversely affected by factors beyond their control. It does not change the assessment standards or qualification requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate may request special consideration if one or more of the following applies:
1- The candidate experienced sudden illness, injury, emotional distress, or other exceptional circumstances at or immediately before the examination
2- External factors such as unsuitable examination conditions impacted performance
3- Pre-approved assessment arrangements were in place but did not adequately meet the candidate’s needs

Special consideration will only be applied where it does not compromise the integrity, validity, or credibility of the qualification, nor provide an unfair advantage over other candidates.

Non-Eligible Circumstances
Special consideration will not be granted in cases including, but not limited to:
1- Absence from the examination due to work commitments or scheduling conflicts
2- Lack of preparation or exam anxiety not linked to exceptional circumstances
3- Situations where supporting evidence is not provided

Application Process
– Candidates must inform Tulleeho as soon as reasonably possible if they believe special consideration may apply
– A written request must be submitted along with appropriate supporting evidence (e.g. medical certificate, official documentation)
– Requests should be sent to: [email protected]
Tulleeho will review the request and, where applicable, submit the application to WSET® Awards in line with their guidelines.

Financial Hardship & Fee Support
Tulleeho strongly believes that financial limitation should not restrict access to education or career growth.

In exceptional cases, candidates facing genuine financial hardship—such as sudden loss of income, family crisis, or background of limited economic means—may be considered for special support or fee assistance.
– Such support is not automatic and is offered purely at Tulleeho’s discretion
– Each request is reviewed individually and confidentially, based on documentation and context
– Decisions are made following a detailed internal review, ensuring fairness, sustainability, and alignment with Tulleeho’s educational mission

This support is intended to enable deserving candidates to continue their professional journey without compromising academic or ethical standards.

Final Decision
All decisions regarding special consideration are made in accordance with WSET® policies and procedures. Tulleeho acts as an intermediary and does not have authority to override WSET® Awards’ final determination.

Confidentiality
All information related to special consideration requests will be treated with strict confidentiality and shared only with relevant parties involved in the assessment process.
