Rebecca Mitchell

Rebecca Mitchell is a leading wine educator and consultant based in the UK. With over 29 years in the wine trade, she is a WSET Certified Educator, Court of Master Sommeliers Certified Sommelier, and Approved Programme Provider for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

Her career began with academic training at Bordeaux University, followed by wine tourism across Europe and the New World. She later served as Head Sommelier at the Michelin 2-star Gidleigh Park Hotel, managing one of the UK’s most extensive wine cellars.

Since 2011, Rebecca has taught WSET qualifications to hospitality professionals and enthusiasts. She is affiliated with South West Wine School and Ashburton Chefs Academy, and is a member of the Association of Wine Educators. Her areas of expertise include cool climate wines, food pairings, and wine service.

A respected wine judge for IWSC, IWC, and WineGB, she is also a Certified Port Educator and Champagne-trained professional. In addition to education and consultancy, she writes tasting notes and wine columns, and frequently hosts corporate and private tastings across the UK.

Rebecca is a proud ambassador for Fifth Sense, using her platform to raise awareness for smell and taste disorders while continuing to inspire the next generation of wine professionals.
