Recipe for You
Tulleeho Signature Recipe
Tulleeho.com recently ran a contest for the discovery of the perfect cocktail, which would bear the name, Tulleeho. Bhaskaran’s entry after much judging (and drinking) was adjudged the winner. Here it is. Our request – when you put it on your menu, give it its rightful name.
Ingredients
• Bacardi Carta Blanca: 45 ml
• Old Monk: 30 ml
• Sugarcane juice: 120 ml
• Lime wedges: 4
• Mint leaves: 2
• Ginger slices (small): 4
Preparation
Muddle lime, mint & ginger with Bacardi in a tall glass, fill it with crushed ice. Add the fresh cane juice & top with the Old Monk. Garnish with mint leaves.
Jury comment: Go easy on the mint leaves while making more than 2 and avoid over eager muddling of the mint. The key is to let the taste of the sugarcane juice and the Bacardi to come shining through, with the other ingredients as flavour enhancers. A great drink, with imaginative choice of ingredients.

What's in a name? - Cutty Sark
CUTTY SARK Scots Whisky was created on 20th March 1923 when the partners of wine & spirit merchants Berry Bros. discussed the launch of a new whisky. The partners had invited James McBey, a well-known Scottish artist to a luncheon that day to discuss the launch. It was he who suggested the name. Cutty Sark is 18th-century Scots for "short shirt".
Factoid - Kerala tops liquor consumption
During 2003-04 Kerala surpassed Punjab in the consumption of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and grabbed the top spot in India.
Techno watch
Beer mat, which refills itself! - Scientists in Germany have invented a beer mat that calls for a refill when the pint is almost empty. Beneath the cardboard surface is a small, flat base plate, which conceals pressure and acceleration sensors that react to the weight of the glass and the position and movement of the coasters. The micro sensors then pass on this information via radio link to the bar, where the signal is picked up and decoded by a waiting computer.
