Ever drunk beer made in a monastery? Always read about ale, but never knew what it was? Now's your chance. The Trappist Brewers of Belgium have been brewing beer since the early 1100's, and all those years haven't gone to waste. By day the monks work in the brewery (answering their 6 calls to prayer along the way) and at evening they are permitted to have a beer at the table with their meals.
From probably the most famous Belgian beer in the world, the Chimay (pronounced she-may!), whose White Label is a cloudy orange pour to the naturally blonde Achel Blond beer, you will taste some great beers from the heart of brewing traditions in Europe.
Along the way, we'll also give you some gyan on different styles of beer and what goes into them.
